About the Project

We are developing next-generation autonomy systems used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Your work will directly impact national defense capabilities and reshape the future of autonomous aerial warfare.

The drone autonomy systems we are building turn math, algorithms, and simulation insights into guidance and decision-making logic for autonomous flight. The problems are ambiguous, physically constrained, and technically demanding.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company’s AI/ML direction, roadmap, architecture, standards, and delivery.
  • Stay hands-on: design systems, write and review code, run experiments, and solve hard technical problems.
  • Lead the development of AI/ML systems for perception, decision-making, and autonomous behavior.
  • Choose the right methods for each problem, from classical algorithms to learning-based approaches.
  • Define the data, simulation, experimentation, metrics, and validation strategy.
  • Turn research and prototypes into reliable systems that work under real-world and onboard compute constraints.
  • Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing AI/ML team.
  • Align priorities, tradeoffs, risks, and delivery across engineering, product, and company leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience building and deploying production ML systems, with depth in computer vision and perception.
  • Deep understanding of neural networks, training, optimization, evaluation, and failure analysis.
  • Expert-level Python and PyTorch, with strong software architecture and engineering practices.
  • Ability to frame ambiguous learning problems and design effective experiments and validation.
  • Familiarity with classical CV, camera geometry, calibration, optical flow, or tracking.
  • Experience leading technical work, mentoring engineers, and setting direction for an ML team or major initiative.
  • High ownership: the ability to drive hard problems to reliable, field-tested results.
  • Advanced agentic coding skills: the ability to use AI coding agents effectively while maintaining technical judgment and code quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or managing an AI/ML engineering team.
  • Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, drones, or other physical systems.
  • Experience optimizing inference on edge devices.
  • Strong C++ skills and experience writing efficient, performance-sensitive code.
  • Experience establishing reproducible experimentation, data and model versioning, and reliable ML lifecycle practices.
