We are looking for a Strong Middle Python AI Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of an innovative AI-powered platform for one of the largest telecommunications companies in Ukraine. You will play a key role in evolving an intelligent solution that connects IVR systems with conversational AI, helping create seamless, real-time customer interactions powered by modern Large Language Models.

What You’ll Do

• Enhance and expand an existing AI platform that enables seamless interaction between IVR systems and conversational chatbots.
• Design and develop scalable backend services using modern Python technologies.
• Integrate and optimize LLM-powered capabilities using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI services.
• Build and maintain real-time communication services using WebSockets and streaming APIs.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to define, discuss, and implement new features.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and continuous modernization of the solution.
• Deliver clean, maintainable, and production-ready code while contributing to technical decision-making and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills

• 3–5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong expertise with Python 3.11+, including asyncio, FastAPI, and Pydantic v2.
• Production experience building WebSocket and streaming-based applications.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic), including:
  
  • Function Calling
  • Streaming Responses
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (including JSONB) and Redis (cache and pub/sub).
• Experience with React 18, TypeScript, and Vite, including component development, hooks, and forms.
• Solid Linux environment experience with Docker and Docker Compose, including container debugging and log analysis.
• Confident spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work with Claude Code and AI-assisted development workflows (MCP, vault-driven development).
• Ability to clearly communicate and justify technical decisions.

Strong Plus

• Experience with React Flow (xyflow) for node-based editors.
• Knowledge of Zustand, TanStack Query, React Hook Form, Tailwind CSS, and Radix UI.
• Experience with vector databases (Qdrant, pgvector), embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Automated testing with Pytest and evaluation-driven LLM development (DeepEval or similar).
• Experience with GitLab CI, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus.
• Ukrainian language proficiency for localization and content-related tasks.

Nice to Have

• Voice technologies, including SIP, Asterisk/FreePBX, AudioSocket, PCM, and audio codecs.
• Experience with Voice Activity Detection (VAD) technologies such as Silero or WebRTC.
• Audio processing using PyTorch, NumPy, and SciPy.
• Experience deploying self-hosted enterprise solutions behind corporate proxies.
