Android Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join a USA-based project. The company is developing a next-generation web interface platform that helps people capture ideas, thoughts, and context seamlessly, wherever they are. The product combines software and hardware, including a voice-first interface and a wearable device designed to make interaction feel intuitive and fast.

The product is already available as a web and iOS application, and the team is now expanding the platform to Android.

Requirements:
— 7+ years of professional software development experience.
— Expert-level knowledge of Kotlin and Android SDK.
— Solid experience with Jetpack Compose.
— Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and mobile development best practices.
— Proficiency in asynchronous programming with Coroutines and Flow.
— Good understanding of mobile UI/UX principles.
— Experience with performance optimization, profiling tools, and memory management.
— Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines.
— Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English (spoken and written).

Nice to have:
— Experience working with modular Android architectures.
— Experience with iOS development, ideally with Swift and/or SwiftUI.
— Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, MockK) and writing unit/UI tests.
— Exposure to Compose Multiplatform or interest in multiplatform development.
— Previous experience mentoring engineers or taking a technical leadership role.
— Experience building Android applications from scratch.

Responsibilities:
— Develop robust and scalable Android applications using Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android libraries.
— Apply architectural principles and design patterns to create scalable and maintainable code.
— Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
— Collaborate with designers, PMs, and QA to deliver polished user experiences.
— Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, upholding engineering best practices.
— Continuously improve the codebase through refactoring, technical debt reduction, and architectural improvements.
— Contribute to improving internal processes, tooling, and technical documentation.
— Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and efficient memory usage.
— Stay up to date with modern Android technologies, tools, and development practices.
