What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Manual & Automation QA Engineer to join the Entravel team. In this role, you will combine manual testing of our web applications with building and maintaining automated tests on a 50/50 basis, ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of our hotel booking platform. You will work closely with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality features and continuously improve our testing processes.

Responsibilities

Manual QA:

• Testing of web applications (main site, admin panel).
• Creating and maintaining documentation (bug reports, test cases, checklists, testing strategy, procedures, manuals).
• Provide testing task estimations.
• Requirements analysis, improvements suggestion, discrepancies finding.
• Quality control throughout the development cycle.

Automation QA:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks.
• Create and support automated tests for backend services and APIs.
• Analyze automated test results, investigate failures, and report defects.
• Execute regression testing to ensure system stability and reliability.

General:

• API testing using Postman or Swagger, including REST and gRPC-based services.
• Testing interactions and data integrity between microservices.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and QA team members.
• Participate in sprint activities, planning, and daily team ceremonies.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, test coverage, and test reliability.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of practical experience in Web and API testing, covering both manual and automation approaches.
• Expert in functional testing process, including test scope identification, test requirements management, test case development, test scheduling, and defect management.
• Experience with creating and implementing test artifacts (test plan, test strategy, etc.).
• Experience with implementing test metrics and overall project health check monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright as the primary automation framework.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript for writing and maintaining test code.
• Experience with Quality Management Software and associated processes and standards.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present quality, compliance, and risk issues and recommendations to leadership.
• Basic knowledge of Web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON).
• Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of message-based or event-driven systems.
• Experience working with complex product systems with microservices architecture (UI, APIs, DBs).
• Confident use of Git and Git-based workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of common SDLC methodologies like Agile / Scrum / Kanban.
• Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across teams in both English and Ukrainian.

Nice to Have

• Experience with integration testing in microservice architectures.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP or similar).
• Experience with monitoring or logs analysis (e.g. Kibana, Grafana).
• Experience with SQL DBs (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL DBs (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis).
• Knowledge of Continuous Development and Continuous Deployment.
• Work experience in crypto; understanding of DeFi products or willingness to learn.
• Mobile testing experience (iOS/Android).
• ISTQB certification.
