Automation QA Engineer

Senior QA Engineer (AI-assisted test automation) — remote, Ukraine

On behalf of our customer, a global video-streaming solutions company that builds apps for major broadcasters and media brands, we are looking for 2 Senior QA Engineers with hands-on AI experience.

You will own test automation for streaming apps on smart TVs, set-top boxes, mobile and web, and use AI tools to write, maintain and speed up testing. Practical AI use in daily QA work is a requirement for this role.

What you will do

• Define test and automation strategy for a project; write test plans and test cases.
• Build and maintain automated UI and API tests for big-screen devices, set-top boxes, mobile and web.
• Validate video playback and streaming behaviour, not only the UI.
• Use AI tools to generate test cases and test data, maintain scripts and analyse failures.
• Run tests in CI, report and triage defects, and track production issues to improve coverage.
• Support device and app store certification testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years in QA, including 4+ years of hands-on test automation.
• At least one of: Selenium, Appium, Espresso, Cypress or Playwright.
• Scripting in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or Java; test frameworks such as PyTest or TestNG.
• API testing (Postman or code-based) and CI pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar).
• Practical AI use in testing: AI coding assistants (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or similar) for writing and maintaining tests, or AI-based test-generation / self-healing tools — with concrete examples you can show.

Nice to have

• Testing on smart TVs, set-top boxes, Roku or Android TV; work with device labs.
• Video quality checks: playback start time, buffering, bitrate, DRM, ads.
• Testing AI features themselves (recommendations, AI agents, LLM output).
• ISTQB or similar certification.

Terms

• Time & materials subconsultancy: you contract with our company as a private entrepreneur (ФОП).
• Paid only for hours actually worked, at an agreed hourly rate; no paid vacation or sick leave.
• Full-time (about 40 hours a week), long-term, fully remote from Ukraine.
• Daily work in the customer’s international team: English B2 or higher.
