Automation QA Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of a modern cloud-based software platform. You’ll work closely with engineers and product teams to validate new features, automate testing, and improve overall product quality across web applications, APIs, and backend services.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys finding issues before users do, improving release confidence, and building scalable automated testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression test suites
• Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and cross-browser testing
• Test end-to-end user workflows across web applications and backend services
• Validate REST APIs, authentication flows, databases, background jobs, and third-party integrations
• Develop and maintain automated frontend, backend, and end-to-end tests
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear steps and supporting evidence
• Verify error handling, edge cases, loading states, and failure scenarios
• Work with developers and product managers to define acceptance criteria and improve testability
• Support release validation and help investigate production issues
• Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes and automation

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional QA or Software Test Engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of web application testing and software development lifecycles
• Experience testing REST APIs and backend services
• Experience creating structured test plans, test cases, and regression suites
• Solid understanding of responsive web testing across browsers and devices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Postman, Jest, Vitest, or similar testing tools
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, or other modern web technologies
• Experience testing cloud-based SaaS platforms or distributed systems
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
• Experience with performance, accessibility, or security testing
• Experience working in Agile product teams
