We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own the health of every release. You will take full ownership of the release gate: if the automated test suite is green, we ship; if it’s red, we don’t. This role is ideal for an experienced QA/SDET professional who can build reliable automation, drive quality standards, and ensure production readiness across web applications and APIs.
Project — a large-scale logistics platform that optimizes package transportation through commercial airline networks and integrates with major last-mile carriers. The engineering team is currently replatforming the existing architecture into a modern technology stack while expanding platform capabilities. As part of the engineering team, you will own the automated testing strategy for both web applications and APIs, leverage AI to accelerate automation, and act as the final quality gate before releases.
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or test automation engineering, including ownership of an automated suite that a team genuinely depended on to release Strong hands-on coding skills in Python and/or TypeScript, with the ability to read application code, not just test it externally Deep API testing experience with REST services, ideally Django/DRF, including authentication and permissions, contract and schema validation, and integrations with unreliable third parties Strong end-to-end browser automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent, including maintaining a stable and reliable test suite CI/CD fluency, including building and owning pipeline stages, parallelisation, artifacts and reporting, and release gating Demonstrated daily use of AI tools in your workflow, ideally including generating and maintaining automated tests Experience with containers and cloud environments (Docker and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform), with the ability to set up and debug environments independently Upper-Intermediate English or higher

Experience working with GitLab CI Experience with performance and load testing Experience with accessibility testing Experience with contract testing Familiarity with synthetic monitoring and observability tooling such as Datadog Security testing background
Responsibilities:
Own and maintain the automated release gate, ensuring every release meets defined quality standards before production Build and maintain reliable API and Web E2E automation, primarily using modern frameworks such as Playwright Use AI tools and agents to generate, maintain, debug, and improve automated tests Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and keep test execution fast, stable, and trustworthy Investigate test failures, flaky tests, and production issues, continuously improving test coverage Collaborate with engineers on testability, quality standards, and production readiness
What success looks like:
First 30 days: understand how changes reach production, assess existing test coverage and known failures, and replace the riskiest manual pre-release check with an automated one First 60 days: establish a single release gate with meaningful API and end-to-end coverage, measurable flake rates, and practical AI-assisted test generation First 90 days: establish a trusted release gate where failed tests reliably stop releases, escaped defects are trending down, and test coverage for new functionality is delivered together with the functionality
