Automation QA Engineer

Today, our automated advertising platform is used by the world’s leading publishers and applications to transact with top brands around the globe enabling them to reach more than 1 billion consumers. The client  operates the largest independent Display Advertising Exchange and Supply Side Platform that automates the buying and selling of Display Advertising across all formats (banner, video) on all devices (desktop browsers, mobile devices, billboards). The client auctions over 20 Billion Ads on a daily basis in real time in less than 1/2 of a second each. It's a publicly traded company (NYSE: RUBI) headquartered in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Job Responsibilities

• Be responsible for designing and implementing build and test infrastructure, creating and enforcing good engineering practices, and evaluating product quality for various external and/or internal products
• Work on problems in a number of areas, including application performance.
• Build out our automated testing infrastructure to help us build reliable, scalable, high-quality products and services
• Participate in design and implementation of test infrastructure to support building and moving services into a Continuous Deployment environment
• Conduct research and create Proof of Concepts on new testing technologies/tools/concepts
• Design test strategies by analyzing and dissecting complex heavily integrated software systems
• Work collaboratively with fellow SDETs and developers to design, build and maintain a scalable, maintainable and flexible automation test framework
• Investigate root cause of issues to assist with finding the most comprehensive and robust solutions
• Collaborate closely with product, project and development teams to identify and resolve technical, business, and process related issues
  
  Requirements:
• 4+ years coding experience in Python along with experience in scripting languages.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in software QA and test automation.
Experience with RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL), native SQL
• Experience with API testing (API smoke, regression, and end-to-end tests, including behavior-driven frameworks (Gherkin/ Cucumber/ behave or similar) and structured payload/ response validations (JSONPath, XML/ schema validation))
• Experience with backend testing (Solid understanding of backend and service testing, with a focus on performance, scalability, and security)
• Experience working with and configuring CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis or similar streaming systems
Experience with Linux.

• Shifted working hours 12pm till 9pm EEST timezone
  
  
  Nice to Have:
• Experience with agentic software development.
• Experience with Ad-serving protocols (VAST/VMAP, OpenRTB) or willingness to ramp quickly — most test scenarios validate VAST XML and OpenRTB bid/response structures directly)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services for deploying, testing, and monitoring applications in cloud environments.
• Exposure to browser-based UI test automation (Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
• Comfortable reading server-side code (Java or similar) to support root-cause analysis, even when not authoring in that language.
