Backend Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to build and optimise the APIs, data models, and services powering ProVision. The role focuses on Python/Django, AWS, distributed systems, performance, and clean architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and implement RESTful APIs with Python 3.10+, Django 4.x, and Django REST Framework;
• Develop scalable data models and queries using PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch;
• Build background and asynchronous tasks with Celery, SQS, and Lambda;
• Integrate AWS services including S3, SNS/SQS, CloudFront, ECS, and RDS;
• Participate in code reviews and maintain secure, well-documented services;
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and infrastructure automation;
• Contribute to architecture, scalability, and performance optimisation.

Must-Have Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, preferably in SaaS;
• Strong Python 3.10+, Django 4.x, and Django REST Framework experience;
• Strong system design and software architecture skills, with experience building scalable systems on AWS;
• Hands-on experience with ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and RDS;
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Celery, and SQS/SNS;
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum;
• English B2+ for daily communication.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS developer tooling;
• Knowledge of authentication, RBAC, and multi-tenant architecture;
• Experience with pytest, linting, pre-commit, and CI quality checks;
• Experience with text/document processing libraries such as pdfplumber, PyPDF2, or docxtpl.
