Backend Engineer

Senior PHP Developer
Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience;
• Solid knowledge of PHP 8 and MySQL;
• Hands-on development experience with Symfony;
• Knowledge of Doctrine, RabbitMQ, RoadRunner;
• Experience with microservices architecture;
• Experience in integration with third-party APIs and the right approach to developing an integration architecture;
• Experience with TDD, BDD testing approach;
• Ability to transform the requirements into a set of unit/integration tests;
• Solid understanding of CI/CD process and containerization;
• Daily hands-on use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar);
• Ability to write precise, machine-readable context: specs, repo-level agent instructions (AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md), OpenAPI contracts;
• Clear judgement on where AI is not appropriate (payment/ledger logic, auth and crypto, PII handling);
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Nice to have

• Knowledge and experience with the Go language;
• GraphQL, REST, JSON-RPC;
• Experience building or consuming MCP servers / agent tooling around internal systems;
• AI-assisted test generation and quality tooling (property-based tests, mutation testing, AI code review in CI);
• Experience working on products that require certifications (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Development of the crucial components of the platform;
• Make the product testable (Test Driven and Behavior Driven approaches);
• Proactive position in platform evolvement, technical solutions, process improvement, etc.;
• Participate in grooming, planning, tech and estimation sessions;
• Transform requirements into a set of unit/integration tests;
• Code review;
• Use AI agents to accelerate delivery;
• Keep the repository “agent-ready”: maintained specs, ADRs, agent instruction files, etc.;
• Review AI-generated pull requests to the same standard as human ones.
