About Us
FreySoft is a software engineering company focused on building digital products and delivering reliable, scalable solutions.
We’re looking for a Product Backend Engineer to join our team and work on OliApp, our own SaaS product for recruiting teams with paying customers.
You’ll help us scale the product by gradually moving complex backend logic from our existing PHP/Laravel monolith to Node.js services, preparing it for growth in European and US markets.
Our Tech Stack
- Node.js, PHP 8+, Laravel 12
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- REST APIs, queues, events, webhooks
- React (web application and browser extension)
Requirements
- Commercial production experience with Node.js, including asynchronous programming and background workers.
- Ability to read and work with an existing PHP/Laravel codebase.
- Hands-on experience with GCP and deploying backend services.
- Understanding of REST APIs, queues, events, webhooks, and backend architecture.
- Experience with unit and integration testing.
- Ability to review, test, and validate AI-generated code rather than relying on it without verification.
- Understanding of monolithic architecture and the principles of gradually migrating functionality to independent services without disrupting a live product.
- Willingness to work with technical specifications and documentation as part of a structured development process.
- Experience working in a team with established development practices, including code reviews.
- English B2 (written).
Nice to Have
- Experience with gradually breaking down a monolith into independent services.
- Experience with browser extensions and API backward compatibility.
- Knowledge of Kotlin or other JVM languages.
- Experience working in a product company or startup.
- Background in recruiting, HR tech, or SaaS products.
- Familiarity with GDPR and data protection requirements for the EU market.
