Project: Analytical platform for energy infrastructure data (Solar/Wind, Smart Grids).
Current Phase: The team is currently performing a significant database redesign and migration.
Work Context:
- You will be working directly within the client’s team.
- The team has its own dedicated Product Manager and Tech Lead, ensuring clear processes and technical guidance.
Technical Requirements (Must-have):
- Experience: 5+ years in backend development.
- Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js.
- PostgreSQL:
- Advanced schema design for Asset Management (metadata).
PostGIS expertise for spatial data analytics (Mandatory).
- Architecture: Deep knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and Nx (monorepos).
- Cloud/Infra: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
Time Series Databases: Hands-on experience (e.g., TimescaleDB, InfluxDB) with high-volume telemetry data.
Communication: English B2+.
Preferred (Nice to have):
- Domain expertise: Understanding of Smart Grid, SCADA, or Energy Storage Systems (ESS) — specifically telemetry ingestion from smart meters.
Responsibilities:
- Architecture: Redesign backend services for asset management and IoT data ingestion.
- Data Engineering: Build high-throughput pipelines for telemetry from smart meters and field devices.
- Database: Optimize PostgreSQL (metadata/PostGIS) for performance, caching, and analytics.
- Real-time: Implement Socket.io channels for monitoring and live alerts.
- API: Develop and document internal/external APIs for partner integrations.
- Quality: Unit/integration testing, code reviews, and production support.
- Process: Collaboration with Architect and PM in a Scrum environment.
