Backend Engineer

Project: Analytical platform for energy infrastructure data (Solar/Wind, Smart Grids).

Current Phase: The team is currently performing a significant database redesign and migration.

Work Context:

• You will be working directly within the client’s team.
• The team has its own dedicated Product Manager and Tech Lead, ensuring clear processes and technical guidance.

Technical Requirements (Must-have):

• Experience: 5+ years in backend development.
• Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js.
• PostgreSQL:
  
  • Advanced schema design for Asset Management (metadata).
  • 
    

    PostGIS expertise for spatial data analytics (Mandatory).

• Architecture: Deep knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and Nx (monorepos).
• Cloud/Infra: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
• 
  

  Time Series Databases: Hands-on experience (e.g., TimescaleDB, InfluxDB) with high-volume telemetry data.

• 
  

  Communication: English B2+.

Preferred (Nice to have):

• Domain expertise: Understanding of Smart Grid, SCADA, or Energy Storage Systems (ESS) — specifically telemetry ingestion from smart meters.

Responsibilities:

• Architecture: Redesign backend services for asset management and IoT data ingestion.
• Data Engineering: Build high-throughput pipelines for telemetry from smart meters and field devices.
• Database: Optimize PostgreSQL (metadata/PostGIS) for performance, caching, and analytics.
• Real-time: Implement Socket.io channels for monitoring and live alerts.
• API: Develop and document internal/external APIs for partner integrations.
• Quality: Unit/integration testing, code reviews, and production support.
• Process: Collaboration with Architect and PM in a Scrum environment.
