Backend Engineer

Join a team focused on building and optimizing high-performance electronic trading systems where C++, Linux, and low-latency trading are at the core of daily engineering work. In this role, you will contribute to applications that support market connectivity, order flow, and trading operations, with a strong focus on latency, throughput, reliability, and system performance across distributed environments.

Required for this role

• Expert-level development experience with modern C++ (C++17/20).
• Strong Linux systems programming experience.
• Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and memory management in performance-critical applications.
• Experience building and supporting low-latency trading or other latency-sensitive distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and high-performance messaging systems.
• Experience developing mission-critical, highly available platforms.
• Advanced debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience working with distributed architectures where latency, throughput, and reliability are key requirements.
• Ability to contribute to technical design discussions and mentor other engineers.
• Upper Intermediate English level.

Nice to have

• Experience with electronic trading, market data, OMS, EMS, or exchange connectivity solutions.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol, market data feeds, and capital markets workflows, including equities, FX, or derivatives trading platforms.
• Experience with low-latency optimization techniques, Linux kernel/network tuning, and real-time event processing.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, Python, Kafka, Solace, FPGA, or kdb+/q.

Your responsibilities

• Design and develop ultra-low-latency trading applications using C++.
• Optimize performance across networking, memory management, concurrency, and application components.
• Build and maintain connectivity to exchanges, ECNs, market data providers, and internal trading platforms.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions for next-generation trading systems.
• Analyze latency bottlenecks and implement measurable performance improvements.
• Collaborate with traders, quantitative teams, product owners, and infrastructure teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Support production releases and troubleshoot issues in complex distributed environments.
• Mentor intermediate engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
