About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer from Ukraine to contribute to the development of an advanced AI infrastructure platform.

The project focuses on building scalable backend services that enable intelligent AI agents to interact with external systems, execute complex workflows, and perform tasks autonomously.

You will work on challenging problems at the intersection of distributed computing, cloud infrastructure, and applied artificial intelligence.

As part of an international engineering team, you will help develop reliable infrastructure supporting multiple AI-powered applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Go.
• Build infrastructure supporting autonomous AI agents and multi-step task execution.
• Implement scalable mechanisms for AI model integration, tool orchestration, and asynchronous processing.
• Develop secure and extensible APIs and integrations with external systems.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed services.
• Design solutions for long-running workflows, isolated execution environments, and fault-tolerant processing.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• Participate in architectural decisions and technical design discussions.
• Collaborate with backend, platform, product, and AI engineers.

• Maintain engineering standards through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery.

   

Required Qualifications

Backend Engineering

• Strong commercial experience developing production-grade backend applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Go (Golang).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant backend solutions.
   

Cloud & DevOps

• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Familiarity with production monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.
   

AI & LLM Integration

• Practical experience integrating LLMs or AI-powered functionality into production applications.
• Understanding of AI agent architectures, model orchestration, and tool-calling mechanisms.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) architectures.
   

Engineering Practices

• Ability to independently evaluate technical trade-offs and make architectural decisions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to software delivery.
• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar solutions.
   

Nice to Have

• Experience developing autonomous AI agents and multi-step workflows.
• Knowledge of event sourcing and event-driven architectures.
• Python programming skills.
• Background in AI/ML infrastructure or developer productivity platforms.
• Experience working in startups or fast-paced technology environments.
