Backend Engineer

Hi! We’re Applyft, a product IT company building mobile and web solutions for millions of users. Starting our path with Geozilla, we’ve grown into an ecosystem of 8 products. Our portfolio spans across several niches: Family Safety, Parental control.

We’re looking for a Senior PHP Developer with Go experience to strengthen our team and drive the global scaling of our products.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain backend services in a high-load microservices environment.
• Integrate third-party services, including payment gateways and marketing analytics platforms.
• Ensure backend systems’ security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate closely with Mobile, Frontend, DevOps, and QA teams.
• Write and maintain unit tests using PHPUnit.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system evolution.

Who you are:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP (Symfony, Laravel, Yii) and Go.
• Strong experience with Docker.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture in production environments.
• Experience integrating payment systems (Stripe, PayPal, etc.).
• Experience integrating marketing analytics systems.
• Strong knowledge of REST API development and integration.
• Solid SQL knowledge and experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB in production environments.
• Understanding of testing principles and hands-on experience with PHPUnit.
• English level: Intermediate+.

Would be a plus:

• Experience with Redis and caching strategies for performance optimization.
• Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and CQRS patterns.
• Experience with message brokers/queues (RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Kafka) for asynchronous processing.
