Backend Engineer
We are looking for a Middle AI Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of an AI-powered web product. The role combines full-stack engineering with the practical integration of AI capabilities into scalable, user-friendly applications.
About the Product
The product is a modern web platform that uses AI to automate workflows, process information, and help users make faster, better-informed decisions. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to develop new features, improve existing functionality, and integrate AI services into the platform.
Responsibilities:
— Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
— Build responsive user interfaces with React.
— Design and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
— Integrate AI models and APIs into product workflows.
— Work with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
— Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
— Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and estimations.
— Investigate issues and continuously improve product performance and reliability.
— Collaborate with the team in a Time & Materials delivery model.
Requirements:
— 2+ years of commercial software development experience.
— Strong knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
— Practical experience with React.
— Experience working with relational databases; PostgreSQL is preferred.
— Basic understanding of AI and machine-learning concepts.
— Experience integrating external APIs.
— Understanding of software architecture, testing, and Git-based workflows.
— English sufficient for technical communication and documentation.
— Ability to work independently, estimate tasks, and communicate progress clearly.
Nice to Have:
— Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar.
— Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, or RAG.
— Experience with cloud platforms and Docker.
— Knowledge of automated testing and CI/CD practices.
