Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Middle CAP Developer to join our client’s team.

Our client is a global professional services company, providing audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services to public and private clients worldwide.

Position requires working from the office once per week.

Locations: Bucharest/Timisoara/Cluj, Sofia/Varna, Budapest, Kraków/Warsaw only

Role Overview

The Mid-Level Developer is a contributing member of an Agile Scrum Team (10+ members)

operating within an Agile Release Train (ART). The role focuses on implementing

application features and supporting development activities under guidance of senior

engineers. The developer works within SAP BTP, CAP, and Cloud Foundry environments

and collaborates with senior developers, QA, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality

solutions using JIRA and GitHub.

Key Responsibilities

— Implement application features based on user stories and acceptance criteria

— Develop backend and/or frontend components under guidance of senior developers

— Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established standards

— Support test-driven development (TDD) and collaborate with QA engineers

— Fix defects and support troubleshooting activities during development and testing phases

— Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement

— Collaborate with team members in Scrum ceremonies (planning, daily stand-ups, reviews,

retrospectives)

— Ensure alignment with SAP BTP, CAP, and Cloud Foundry development guidelines

— Contribute to documentation and technical knowledge sharing within the team

Key Skills and Competencies

— Basic to intermediate programming skills (e.g., JavaScript, Java, or similar)

— Understanding of web development and API concepts

— Familiarity with SAP BTP, CAP, or cloud platforms is beneficial

— Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., GitHub)

— Understanding of Agile methodology and Scrum practices

— Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

— Willingness to learn and grow technical skills

— Good problem-solving and analytical thinking

— English — Upper Intermediate+

Experience and Qualifications

— Typically 3+ years of experience in software development

— Experience with modern development tools and frameworks is beneficial

— Exposure to Agile Scrum environments is an advantage
