Backend Engineer

We are a product-focused IT company that is actively scaling and expanding its presence in international markets.

Our business model is built on performance marketing and subscription-based monetization of mobile and web applications.

In 2025, we launched a new product — an AI-educational application that helps people master AI, develop their careers, and unlock new opportunities.

The product has been on the market for over a year, and our end users are primarily from Tier-1 countries and other markets around the world.

We currently have an open position for a Senior Backend Developer (Node.js).

Skills:

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js/TypeScript, including 2+ years hands-on with NestJS in production;Strong command of MySQL: query optimization, indexing, performance tuning;
• Working knowledge of a TypeScript ORM in a production backend (e.g. MikroORM, or similar);
• Practical use of Redis (caching, queues);
• Background with job/task queues or message brokers (BullMQ or similar) — any hands-on exposure is valuable, exact tool is flexible;
• Solid grasp of REST API design and implementation, including documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI);
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD in day-to-day development;
• Comfortable with monitoring and observability tooling — structured logging, error tracking (e.g. Sentry), and ideally metrics/tracing;
• Regular practice writing unit and integration tests as part of the development process;
• Real-world use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) in development work — not just casual use.

Would be a plus:

• Strong experience integrating third-party payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, Braintree or similar) — webhooks, signature verification, idempotency, retries, reconciliation; -
• Experience building or maintaining internal admin/CRM tools — comfortable with CRUD-heavy systems, dynamic form-driven configuration, and permission/role management; -
• Experience with A/B testing infrastructure — understands how test variants, funnels, and product configurations are tracked and evaluated;

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and maintain our Payment Service — a dedicated service handling integrations with multiple payment providers, including webhook handling, signature verification, subscription lifecycle events, retries, and reconciliation logic;
• Develop and extend features in our internal CRM/admin panel — product configuration, user management, funnel and A/B test tooling, localization management;
• Work with the team on our infrastructure migration to AWS — adapting backend services to run reliably in the new environment;
• Improve monitoring and observability — structured logging, error tracking, and alerting to catch issues before they affect users;
• Investigate and fix backend performance issues — slow queries, inefficient caching, database bottlenecks under production load;
• Use AI coding tools as part of daily development — speeding up implementation, reviewing code, and exploring solutions, while critically validating AI-generated output;
• Write and maintain tests (unit, integration) to keep critical flows — especially payment and checkout — reliable through changes;
• Participate in code review, technical planning, and architecture decisions for the backend services you’ll own;
• Collaborate closely with frontend, QA, and product to ship features end-to-end, from design through production.
