Backend Engineer
We’re looking for a Lead .NET Engineer to drive the design of production backend systems built around event-driven and event-sourced architecture, work in an AI-first development process, and lead a small engineering team.
Must-have
- 8+ years building production systems with C# / .NET, with senior/lead-level ownership
- Experience mentoring developers and leading a small team (~3—5 engineers) — code review, technical guidance, and coordinating delivery
- Hands-on Event Sourcing and CQRS experience in real-world systems (this is central — expect practical, scenario-based discussion of what you’ve built)
- Strong working knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Experience with Vertical Slice Architecture (or similar modular service boundaries)
- Solid PostgreSQL experience
- Experience with asynchronous messaging and integration patterns, ideally RabbitMQ
- Experience containerizing services with Docker
- Experience building and operating cloud-hosted applications, ideally AWS
- AI-first mentality — practical experience using AI tools to accelerate development (automated workflows, code generation/review, test generation)
- Familiarity with agentic AI concepts (autonomous workflows, tool-using agents, orchestration, evaluation/guardrails) and eagerness to apply them daily
- Strong ownership mindset — you ship, you improve, you operate, you lead
- Upper-Intermediate+ English — confident communication, ability to lead technical discussions in an English-speaking team
Working hours: overlap with US required, till 3 pm EST (10:00 pm Kyiv time).
The team runs an AI-DLC (AI-Driven Development Lifecycle). 2-3 hours a day are spent in collaborative mob sessions, with heavy use of AI tooling for code generation, review, and test creation.
