Backend Engineer

Software Service & Innovation (SSI) is looking for a Mid / Mid+ Python Backend Developer to join our team in Lviv and work on an innovative Enterprise Product for the European market.

About the Project:

The project is a digital document system built for a Swiss product company. It uses smart AI and Machine Learning technologies to help businesses organize their files faster and make work much easier.

The product is already working, stable, and has hundreds of real users. Right now, we are building many new features and updates, so there is a lot of interesting backend work to do.

Technical Stack:

• Backend: Python (Flask), REST, gRPC, GraphQL.
• Frontend: JS React, TypeScript.
• Databases & Tools: MongoDB, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Git, GitLab.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

• Feature Development: Design, develop, and implement new business features for the core AI/ML document management platform.
• Integration & Architecture: Work with multiple communication protocols and data layers (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL).
• Optimization: Participate in continuous platform optimization, enhancing information retrieval speed and system reliability.
• Agile Collaboration: Work within a flexible Scrum/Kanban environment where sprints are managed by features delivered rather than strict time boxes.

Requirements:

• Experience: 4+ years of commercial backend development experience with Python.
• Frameworks: Solid knowledge of Python backend frameworks (Flask is a strong plus).
• API & Integration: Hands-on experience with REST, gRPC, and GraphQL.
• Databases: Proficiency in working with both SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• DevOps Basics: Good understanding of Docker and containerized environments.
• Methodology: Experience working with Git/GitLab and Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
• English: Upper-Intermediate level or higher (for comfortable communication with the Swiss product team).
