Backend Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Middle Ruby on Rails Developer who enjoys developing new features, improving existing products, and working with long-term client projects. Depending on your experience and current business needs, you’ll join one of our Ruby on Rails teams working on products such as CRM, SaaS, booking, or eCommerce platforms.

What you’ll do

• Develop new features using Ruby on Rails.
• Maintain and improve existing functionality.
• Refactor and gradually modernize legacy code.
• Fix bugs and improve application stability.
• Participate in code reviews and release processes.
• Write and maintain RSpec tests.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, Project Managers, and clients.
• Suggest technical improvements and contribute to team discussions.

Tech Stack

Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, SQL, REST API, RSpec, React / Next.js / jQuery, Bootstrap, GitHub, Redmine, Basecamp. Different projects may use different Ruby and Rails versions.

What we’re looking for

• Commercial experience with Ruby on Rails (2+ years).
• Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
• Solid experience with React or Next.js
• Experience working with legacy applications.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Intermediate+ English.
• PostgreSQL and SQL.
• REST APIs.
• Basic experience with RSpec.
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID, DRY, and KISS principles.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar).

Nice to have

• Experience with monolithic applications.
• Production release experience.
• Bootstrap.
• Redmine or Basecamp.
