About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to design, build, and optimize the APIs, data models, and services that power ProVision. You’ll work closely with front-end engineers, QA, and DevOps to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure back-end systems serving global enterprise clients.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in Python/Django, AWS services, and distributed systems design, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and clean architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Python 3.10+ and Django 4.x / Django REST Framework.
- Develop scalable data models and queries with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
- Build background workers and asynchronous tasks using Celery, SQS, and Lambda.
- Integrate AWS services (S3, SNS/SQS, CloudFront, ECS, RDS) into application workflows.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, secure, and well-documented services.
- Collaborate with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, scalability planning, and performance optimisation.
Must-Have Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development, preferably in SaaS environments.
- Strong expertise in Python (3.10+), Django (4.x), and Django REST Framework, with solid REST API development experience.
- Strong system design and software architecture skills, with experience building scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems on AWS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure, including ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and RDS.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Celery, and messaging systems such as SQS/SNS.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum environments, and modern development best practices.
- English at B2+ level, sufficient for daily communication with the team.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS developer tooling.
- Knowledge of authentication frameworks, role-based access control, and multi-tenant architecture/design patterns.
- Understanding of testing frameworks, linting, and pre-commit workflows (GitHub CI, pytest, Ruff, etc.).
- A pragmatic engineering mindset with a focus on reliability and clean architecture.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional Agile teams.
- A proactive approach to improving codebases and developer experience.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when solving problems.
- Experience with text/document processing libraries such as pdfplumber, PyPDF2, or docxtpl.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Sentry, Prometheus), as well as secure key management solutions (KMS, SOPS).

- We work in Scrum, with several development teams working on the same platform.
- All requirements are well described by QA and BA in Jira/Confluence.
- Development is highly supported by AI tooling with mandatory human review.
- The architect supports architectural decisions and oversees system consistency.
- Manual and automated QA to ensure regression is not introduced.
- Multitenant, scheduled releases, handled by the Delivery team.
