Data Engineer
We are NEWSTAFF, a Ukrainian outstaffing and engineering company specializing in full-cycle BIM design for projects of any complexity — from residential complexes and cottages to shopping centers and military facilities for Israeli and European markets.
We are looking for an experienced Data Fusion Engineer to optimize, refine, and advance our existing multi-sensor tracking and estimation algorithms. In this role, you will work on improving a mature, market-ready product without needing to invent architectures from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize and expand existing data fusion algorithms that aggregate data from multiple maritime sensors (Radars, AIS, Cameras, GPS/IMU) into a unified situational picture.
- Implement and fine-tune classical estimation and multi-target tracking algorithms (Kalman Filters, EKF, UKF, probabilistic data association).
- Integrate and evaluate machine learning-based fusion models to enhance detection accuracy in challenging maritime environments.
- Participate in sensor calibration and sensor alignment pipelines.
- Maintain, refactor, and deploy high-performance algorithms in C++ and Python.
Our Ideal Match:
- Strong background in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of practical experience with multi-sensor data fusion, target tracking, and state estimation.
- In-depth expertise in classical estimation methods (Kalman filtering, particle filters, data association) and probabilistic modelling.
- Hands-on experience with sensor calibration processes.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Experience applying machine learning techniques to sensor data processing or fusion.
- Good command of English (Intermediate / Upper-Intermediate or higher) for technical collaboration and documentation.
