Data Engineer

PioGroup Software is a team of professionals passionate about building reliable digital products. We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Databricks Consultant

to support a long-term SAP BW → Databricks migration project for a large enterprise client.

The role focuses on the migration and modernization of an existing SAP BW data platform to Databricks, including understanding and translating existing data structures, models, transformations, and business logic.

Core Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
• Proven experience with data migrations, ideally large-scale / enterprise migrations
• Experience with SAP BW, sufficient to understand:
• Existing BW structures
• Data models
• Transformations
• Business logic being migrated to Databricks
• Strong background in data modeling
• Strong BI and data engineering knowledge
• Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform
• Previous involvement in data platform modernization / migration projects
• Experience working in large enterprise environments

• Databricks
• SAP BW
• AWS or comparable cloud platform
• Data migration and modernization projects
• Data modeling
• BI / enterprise data platforms
• Data engineering

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM/AI-powered code translation or migration
• Finance domain experience
• Broader enterprise BI/data platform expertise

Domain / Project Fit

• Experience in the Finance domain is beneficial
• Experience working in large enterprise environments
• Experience with enterprise-scale data platform modernization and migration

Personal & Logistical Requirements

• English: B2—C1
• Location: EU-based candidates only
• Availability: Able to commit to a long-term engagement from December 2026 / January 2027 until the end of Q1 2028

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior Data Engineer / Databricks Consultant with strong hands-on Databricks expertise, solid SAP BW knowledge, and proven experience delivering large-scale data migration or modernization projects within enterprise environments.
