Data Engineer

AWS Data Engineer (Redshift / Glue) — Toronto, Canada

We're looking for an AWS Data Engineer to join a greenfield data foundation project for an enterprise client (delivery through an AWS partner track).

About the project:

• Building an AWS data foundation from scratch: Redshift as the core DWH, Glue for ETL, S3 as the storage layer
• Long-term engagement, full-time
• Direct work with the client's English-speaking team
• Location: Toronto / Canada (remote or hybrid)

Requirements:

• 4+ years in data engineering, including 3+ years hands-on with AWS
• Amazon Redshift: data modeling, distribution/sort keys, performance tuning, WLM
• AWS Glue: ETL jobs, Glue Data Catalog, crawlers
• S3, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM
• Advanced SQL and Python (PySpark)
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines
• English B2+ — daily communication with the client, no interpreter

Nice to have:

• Work authorization in Canada
• AWS Certified Data Engineer — Associate, or Solutions Architect
• Lake Formation, Athena, Redshift Spectrum, Apache Iceberg
• dbt, Airflow / MWAA
