Data Engineer

About the project:

Large DWH based on BigQuery. A lot of tasks are related to configuring semantic layer above the data, adding new columns/views to serve business needs and resolve data issues. There is an AI slack bot which uses DWH data a lot + custom reporting platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Python and SQL
• Experience working with any reporting system (Looker, Power BI, or Tableau)
• In-depth understanding of data modeling
• Claude Code — critically important: the client does virtually all the work in it
• BigQuery, GCP, Postgres, understanding of main data engineering techniques and principles.
• English level: Upper Intermediate or higher.

Will be a plus:

• Dataform/dbt/Airflow
• Semantic Layer above large DWH, GitHub Actions. Snowflake, AWS

Responsibilities:

• Creating and editing SQL views, writing complex SQL queries
• Editing and maintaining reports in Looker
• Working with Python and JavaScript code
• Creating and maintaining CI/CD processes
• Improving data retrieval for the AI Slack bot and other target systems
• Supporting data replication from PostgreSQL to BigQuery
