Database Engineer

Location: Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, Montenegro.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Optimize the performance of high-load transactional systems built on Microsoft SQL Server;
• Analyze execution plans, statistics, locking, and blocking to find the root causes of performance issues;
• Design and implement indexes, and monitor their impact on system performance;
• Implement solutions that improve system stability and reliability;
• Write, review, and optimize complex T-SQL code (queries, stored procedures, functions);
• Administer and support SQL Server environments on AWS (RDS and/or EC2);
• Design, configure, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On, Multi-AZ);
• Build and support data integrations using SSIS, ETL/ELT processes, and APIs;
• Communicate with the team and stakeholders in English, explain technical findings, and propose optimization solutions.

What makes you a great fit:

• 5+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA;
• Proven performance-tuning experience on high-load transactional systems;
• Deep knowledge of indexing, execution plans, statistics, locking, and isolation levels;
• Strong T-SQL skills;
• Experience with SQL Server on AWS (RDS and/or EC2);
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (Always On, Multi-AZ);
• Experience with integrations: SSIS, ETL/ELT, APIs;
• Upper-Intermediate (B2) English or higher.
