DevOps Engineer
Outstaff Hiring: Remote — Contract (Full-time, Long-term)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Platform Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability, security, and operational excellence of a modern cloud-based platform.
You’ll work closely with software engineers to build scalable CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, strengthen security practices, improve testing, and ensure production systems remain stable and observable. This role combines DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering, and security best practices.

What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Manage cloud infrastructure, environments, secrets, and infrastructure as code.
- Improve monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and production observability.
- Define service reliability metrics and support incident management processes.
- Build automated testing infrastructure for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Improve platform security through access reviews, dependency management, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.
- Design backup, disaster recovery, rollback, and release management processes.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work with engineering teams to eliminate recurring problems.
- Create operational documentation, runbooks, release checklists, and engineering standards.
- Continuously improve platform reliability, deployment quality, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, Security Engineering, QA Automation, or Production Engineering.
- Strong experience with Linux, cloud infrastructure, networking, and containerized applications.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and deployment workflows.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, and incident response.
- Experience creating automated integration and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- A systematic approach to improving reliability and reducing operational risk.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or Vercel.
- Experience with Playwright or other automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of application security best practices.
- Experience supporting blockchain infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Experience working in financial, security-sensitive, or regulated environments.
- Security certifications or infrastructure audit experience.
