Teambase is looking for a part-time Azure-focused DevOps / Cloud Engineer to help us improve and optimize our Azure infrastructure, deployment process, CI/CD pipelines, security configuration, and cost efficiency.

Format: remote, part-time
Expected workload: 15–25 hours per week

About Teambase
Teambase is an insurtech software vendor building cloud-based products for insurance carriers, brokers, and MGAs.

We use Azure-only infrastructure. Our environment includes production, UAT, test, and development resources. We are now looking for a strong hands-on DevOps / Cloud Engineer who can help us reduce infrastructure costs, improve deployment automation, and introduce better Azure governance.

Main responsibilities:
— Review existing Azure infrastructure and identify cost optimization opportunities
— Analyze production, UAT, test, and development environments
— Propose practical cost reduction actions without harming reliability
— Review and improve existing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
— Set up deployment processes for new projects
— Implement Infrastructure as Code using Bicep or Terraform
— Help us reduce manual Azure resource creation
— Improve configuration and secrets management using Azure Key Vault
— Configure secure service connections, managed identities, and access rules
— Improve monitoring, logging, alerts, and diagnostics
— Support Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, and related services
— Help define a clear Azure environment strategy for new projects
— Document infrastructure, deployment flows, and operational recommendations

Required experience:
— Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
— Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines, Repos, build and release automation
— Practical experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Application Insights
— Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform
— Understanding of Azure networking, access control, RBAC, managed identities, and private endpoints
— Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production systems
— Understanding of CI/CD best practices
— Ability to review existing infrastructure and propose realistic improvements
— Ability to work independently and communicate risks, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly

Important for us:
— Azure cost optimization / FinOps experience
— Ability to distinguish production-critical resources from test/UAT/dev resources
— Experience with reservations, right-sizing, cleanup of unused resources, scaling rules, and environment scheduling
— Practical security mindset: no secrets in code or pipelines, Key Vault usage, least privilege access, secure service connections
— Ability to work with an existing environment, not only create greenfield infrastructure

Nice to have:

— Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Security Engineer, Cybersecurity Architect, or Identity and Access Administrator
— Experience with Azure AI Foundry / Microsoft Foundry
— Understanding of Azure OpenAI deployments, model deployment options, quotas, and pricing considerations
— Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or RAG/LLM-based systems
— Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or data platform infrastructure
— Experience with AKS, containers, Docker, Azure Container Registry
— Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, or security monitoring
— Experience with multi-environment governance or Azure Landing Zones
— Experience in SaaS, fintech, insurance, or other regulated domains

Expected profile
This role is broader than pipeline maintenance. We need a hands-on Azure DevOps / Cloud Engineer who can understand the current state, identify problems, suggest improvements, and implement practical changes.

The ideal candidate can work autonomously, communicate clearly with developers and technical leads, and help us build a more predictable, secure, and cost-efficient Azure platform.

English: Intermediate or higher. The candidate should be able to read technical documentation, communicate with the development team, and write short technical notes.
