We have withstood multiple challenges, such as COVID-19 pandemic and war aggression against Ukraine, we have secured sustainable development processes, saved all our projects and jobs. Even more — we’re constantly growing. Every day we add new projects to our portfolio in the following areas of expertise:

  • Real-Time Communications (RTC)

In addition, we develop 2 of our own solutions that help our customers get faster applications for video or audio calls (www.softermii.com/solutions/vidrtc) or an application for real estate with 3D visualization (www.softermii.com/solutions/apartmii)

Company’s mission: Softermii: Succeed Without (L)imitations. We will turn any idea into a valuable product.

Our plans as a company: We want to move from a regular outsourcing business to an ecosystem of outsourcing, education, and product development companies. Over the years, we have arrived at a highly personalized working model with transparent workflows.

This model allows us to create software products that meet our clients’ goals with precision. We operate in an AI-assisted development environment, where engineering thinking, logical validation, and responsibility for business outcomes are more important than simply writing code.

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our R&D team and help support and maintain AWS infrastructure across several client projects.

At the start you’ll have a limited allocation to one project — the specific project is chosen based on business needs at the time you join — with room to take on broader infrastructure ownership as you grow.

This is a solid opportunity to build real commercial experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD while learning from senior engineers on the team, in an AI-assisted engineering environment.

Type of cooperation: Remote, Full-time. Working hours generally follow Kyiv time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain AWS infrastructure across several client projects
  • Build and run containerized workloads; support deployments to orchestration platforms
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform
  • Set up and support monitoring and alerting; participate in incident response
  • Automate routine operations using Bash and Python
  • Keep infrastructure documentation and runbooks up to date

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of commercial experience in DevOps, SRE, system administration, or cloud support roles
  • Solid Linux fundamentals: CLI usage, services management, log analysis, and basic troubleshooting
  • Basic hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and IAM (console or CLI)
  • Familiarity with Docker, including building images and debugging containers
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles along with confident Git usage
  • Basic knowledge of Bash scripting for automation purposes
  • Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) in daily engineering work, with the judgement to review and verify output before it reaches infrastructure
  • English level B1+ — you’ll communicate directly with client teams
  • Willingness to learn fast, ask questions, and take ownership of tasks

Nice to Have:

  • Networking fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, and load balancing concepts
  • Understanding of container orchestration concepts and platforms, such as Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate, or Docker Swarm
  • Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • Experience with other cloud providers, such as Azure or GCP
  • Practical experience with EKS, ECS, or Helm
  • Familiarity with a monitoring stack: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch
  • Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis
  • Python for automation
  • AWS certification, such as Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate
  • Personal projects, home lab, or open-source contributions we can look at
