We at Artkai help mid-market and enterprise teams modernize software, automate business processes, and build AI-powered applications with security and enterprise-grade governance in mind. We deliver measurable business outcomes using AI where it wins and senior engineering expertise everywhere.
We are launching a major new long-term initiative for a European financial-infrastructure client.
About the Project & Role
- Project Stage: Starting with a discovery and architecture phase, followed by active build. Everything within the project scope will be built completely from scratch inside the client-provided infrastructure environment (with integrations into external data services).
- Duration: long-term.
- Team Composition: A senior-level core team (1 Blockchain, 2 Backend, 1 DevOps, 1 QA, 1 BA, 1 Solution Architect, 1 PM) scaling up to a team of 20+ specialists.
- Core Tech Stack: Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions, HashiCorp Vault, Prometheus/Grafana/Loki, Trivy/Syft, EU-region cloud with hybrid on-prem, and DR drills for DORA resilience testing.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience, specifically focused on DevOps/Platform engineering.
- Technical Competencies:
- Deep mastery of Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions).
- Hands-on experience with secrets management (HashiCorp Vault) and security/vulnerability scanning (Trivy/Syft).
- Comprehensive observability setups using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Experience with EU-region cloud environments and hybrid on-prem setups, as well as disaster-recovery (DR) drills for DORA resilience testing.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools in DevOps workflows (IaC generation, pipeline optimization, troubleshooting, and automation).
- Language Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2/C1) or higher.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- HSM (Hardware Security Modules): Deep prior experience is not mandatory to start. A foundational understanding of how HSM works is sufficient; you will coordinate with a dedicated HSM specialist and remotely integrate devices into broader automated workflows.
Functional Duties & Responsibilities
- Own environments, end-to-end CI/CD workflows, and deployments (building everything from scratch).
- Handle remote HSM interactions and secrets operations.
- Instrument strict SLAs and configure comprehensive alerting mechanisms.
- Manage incident response, quarterly patch releases, and execute resilience/disaster-recovery drills.
- Note on On-Call: There will be no on-call duties or rotations during the first year (as the product is built from scratch); the exact support model will evolve as development matures.
Probationary Period Focus
- Process Design: Collaborate with the SA and PMO to design robust CI/CD and engineering processes across all system components, while preparing the backlog for required automations.
- Infrastructure as Code: Establish the core IaC structure from the ground up, formulate the IaC backlog, and jumpstart infrastructure provisioning automation.
Soft Skills & Mindset
- High degree of self-sufficiency: capable of tackling and resolving issues within the DevOps zone of responsibility independently.
- Proactive problem-solver: able to identify operational blockers, raise them to management alongside well-reasoned, proposed solutions, and continuously improve the DevOps lifecycle.
- Strong teamwork and client-facing collaboration skills.
Conditions, Logistics & Interview Process
Work Schedule & Logistics: At least 4 hours of daily overlap with CET. Occasional travel in Europe (expected to be more frequent at the very beginning of the discovery phase for key staff, though it does not imply permanent onsite presence).
