Embedded Engineer
About us
We are an international defense startup, rapidly expanding to support the Ukrainian national needs. As a startup, we operate in a highly flexible environment where agility, adaptability, and a hands-on approach are critical for success.
We are focused on pushing real products into the field as quickly as possible, and we’re looking for a flexible Firmware Platform Engineer with a background in building reliable firmware stacks for embedded systems and rapidly transitioning prototypes into production.
The ideal candidate has deep experience with RTOS-based development on modern MCUs (e.g., STM32H7/H5), strong familiarity with peripheral interfaces, and is comfortable collaborating closely with electrical engineers to troubleshoot hardware, validate systems, and deliver robust platforms.
Responsibilities
— Design and maintain firmware platforms on STM32H7 and STM32H5 microcontrollers.
— Develop software infrastructure on an RTOS for real-time and near real-time applications.
— Implement and maintain drivers for common interfaces: UART, I²C, SPI, CAN bus, and Ethernet.
— Integrate and optimize lightweight networking stacks (e.g., lwIP).
— Build modular, reusable C++ frameworks and APIs to enable rapid feature integration.
— Collaborate with electrical engineers on board bring-up, hardware validation, and troubleshooting.
— Develop Python tools to support validation, automation, and integration testing.
— Contribute to system-level design, collaborating with teams working on compute, autonomy, and comms stacks.
Requirements
— BS in CS/EE/CE or equivalent practical experience.
— 3+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development.
— Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
— Experience developing firmware for STM32 microcontrollers (H7, H5, or similar).
— Practical experience with RTOS-based platforms.
— Experience shipping firmware for electromechanical or robotic products.
— Strong debugging and validation skills in environments where system failure has consequences beyond downtime.
Nice to Have
— Experience with lwIP networking stack.
— Exposure to embedded Linux environments.
— Familiarity with Google Pigweed libraries.
— Experience with serialization frameworks such as Protobufs.
— Familiarity with gRPC in embedded or distributed systems.
— Contributions to open-source embedded or firmware platforms.
What We Offer
— We offer official employment in accordance with the Labor Code of Ukraine.
— A competitive salary that will be discussed individually based on the interview results.
— Opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
— A comfortable office and a friendly team.
— The chance to participate in creating an essential and high-tech product for the country.
