Embedded Engineer

About the position

We are looking for a Middle UAV Systems Engineer to strengthen the engineering team developing, integrating, configuring, and testing onboard UAV systems.

The role combines embedded software development, UAV avionics, hardware integration, and practical system testing. You will work with onboard computers, flight controllers, sensors, communication interfaces, and related software, helping ensure that individual components work together as a reliable UAV system.

The position is highly hands-on and requires an engineering mindset: the ability to work with real hardware, analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and iteratively improve the system through bench, simulation, and flight testing.

Must have skills:

• Middle-level experience in embedded software, robotics, UAVs, or a related engineering field
• Good C/C++ skills
• Good Python skills
• Linux / Embedded Linux
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and embedded computers / SBCs
• Understanding of digital and analog electronics fundamentals
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets
• Experience with at least some common embedded interfaces: UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet
• Hands-on experience integrating sensors or peripheral equipment
• Understanding of flight-controller principles
• Practical familiarity with ArduPilot, PX4, or similar autopilot systems
• Understanding of MAVLink or the ability to become productive with it quickly
• Understanding of UAV navigation and control principles
• Practical hardware/software debugging skills
• Willingness to work not only with code but directly with hardware and to participate in flight testing

Your tasks will include:

• Integrate flight controllers and onboard computers
• Work with ArduPilot and/or PX4
• Develop software in C/C++ and Python
• Work with Linux / Embedded Linux
• Integrate IMUs, GNSS receivers, compasses, barometers, RGB/EO cameras, thermal cameras, and other sensors
• Integrate NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and similar SBCs
• Work with UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, and Ethernet
• Work with MAVLink
• Configure and customize Mission Planner / QGroundControl
• Integrate CV/navigation software with the flight controller
• Develop supporting embedded and diagnostic tools
• Analyze telemetry and flight logs
• Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues
• Prepare equipment for bench, simulation, and flight testing
