Embedded Engineer
About the Team
You will join a passionate group of engineers and field experts dedicated to turning frontline feedback into immediate system improvements and long-term trust with operators.
Your Mission
You are the link between our engineering team in Germany and the units that actually use our systems. Half the job is in the lab and on the test range: calibrating antennas, radars and jamming systems, running measurements, and validating builds before they ship. The other half is with the units themselves: working alongside operators, seeing how the equipment performs in real use, and bringing back the kind of feedback that never survives a written report.
We need someone who can hold a technical conversation with RF engineers in Germany on Monday and a practical one with an EW operator the following day, and translate accurately in both directions.
Just as important as the engineering: you are the face of the company to the units. A large part of this role is building and holding long-term relationships with the brigades, EW companies and technical staff who use our equipment — earning their trust, being the person they call when something goes wrong, and making sure they keep telling us the truth about how the systems perform. Those relationships are what give us an honest feedback loop, and they are expected to be a lasting asset to the company, not a by-product of individual visits.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate and verify EW hardware: antenna gain and radiation pattern checks, VSWR and return loss, transmit power and EIRP verification, band coverage, direction-finding array alignment, radar boresighting.
- Build and run test procedures, document results, and maintain calibration records across deployed units.
- Travel to operational units to install systems, train operators, troubleshoot in place, and collect structured performance data.
- Translate field observations into concrete engineering requirements and defect reports for the R&D team.
- Support fielding of new builds and firmware, including acceptance testing with the end user present.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with operational units — commanders, EW specialists and technical points of contact — and act as their single, reliable point of contact with the company.
- Stay in regular contact with units between visits, follow up on issues raised, and close the loop so they see their feedback reflected in the product.
- Represent the company credibly in-country and open doors to new units and formations.
- Spend time at the German site working directly with design engineers during development cycles.
Required Skills
- Solid grounding in RF fundamentals: propagation, antennas, filters, amplifiers, link budgets, spectrum behaviour.
- Hands-on competence with RF test equipment — spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, SDR platforms.
- Direct experience with EW systems in combat conditions, whether as an operator, technician, or engineer supporting deployed units.
- Fluent Ukrainian and working English, both technical and conversational.
- Credibility with military users and the interpersonal skill to build durable working relationships with units — existing contacts within EW, signals or UAS formations are a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Ukraine to wherever the units are based, and to Germany on a recurring basis.
- Comfortable working independently with limited supervision and intermittent communications.
Nice-To-Have
- Engineering degree in RF, electronics, telecommunications, radiophysics or an equivalent practical background.
- Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or an affiliated unit in an EW, signals, or reconnaissance role.
- Experience with FPV and UAS-related RF environments, GNSS interference, or tactical communications.
- Python or similar for test automation and data analysis; GNU Radio or comparable SDR tooling.
- Experience writing technical documentation and operator training material.
- Prior work in a hardware company with an iterative development cycle.
