We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Engineer to join a greenfield medical device / neurotech project. The product is a behind-the-ear wearable EEG device designed for ambulatory epilepsy monitoring. The device collects EEG, accelerometer and impedance data and streams it over BLE to a companion mobile app.
Responsibilities:
- Develop firmware for a greenfield wearable EEG medical device based on Nordic nRF54L15 and Zephyr RTOS.
- Own firmware development from board bring-up and architecture to integration and system testing.
- Develop drivers and data acquisition for EEG AFE, accelerometer, DAC, external RTC and PSRAM.
- Implement continuous EEG acquisition, SPI/FIFO communication, interrupt/DMA handling and RAM ring buffering.
- Design and implement BLE streaming and GATT services, including pairing, bonding and reconnection.
- Implement secure boot, DFU/OTA and power management to support ~72-hour battery life.
- Develop firmware unit/integration tests, CI and a Python-based emulator/test harness for mobile-side BLE communication.
- Contribute to firmware architecture, SRS/SDD, architecture diagrams and other engineering documentation.
- Collaborate directly with the US-based client team to define requirements, hardware/software interfaces and BLE/GATT specifications.
- Work autonomously as the primary firmware engineer, driving technical decisions and communication throughout the project.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development experience.
- Strong commercial experience with Nordic Semiconductor SoCs; nRF54L15 is preferred, but previous nRF generations are considered.
- Strong experience with Zephyr RTOS and C/C++.
- Solid hands-on experience with BLE/BLE GATT, including data streaming, pairing, bonding and reconnection.
- Practical experience with SPI, interrupts/DMA and continuous real-time or near-real-time data acquisition.
- Strong experience with low-power optimization for battery-powered embedded devices
- Experience integrating sensors and peripherals such as accelerometers, DACs, RTC or external memory.
- Experience with secure boot, DFU/OTA, firmware testing and CI.
- Experience building emulators/test harnesses, preferably with Python.
- Strong firmware architecture and technical documentation skills; SRS/SDD experience is a plus.
- Experience in medical devices, wearables, healthcare or other regulated products is a strong advantage.
- English level: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Our Benefits:
- Professional growth: Individual development plan, mentorship, reimbursement for professional certifications and English lessons, access to professional courses in Corporate Learning Management System.
- Community: Tech community and knowledge-sharing events, English speaking club, corporate library and book club, volunteering and charity initiatives.
- Wellbeing: Medical insurance, regular medical check-ups, sport reimbursement, paid vacation and sick leave, mental health support and events.
- Work environment: Fully-equipped offices, top-notch equipment, flexible work format, activities both in-office and online, Y-bucks and access to the Yalantis store.
