Full Stack Engineer

Senior Full Stack Engineer (AWS & middleware) — remote, Ukraine

On behalf of our customer, a global video-streaming solutions company that builds apps for major broadcasters and media brands, we are looking for Senior Full Stack Engineers with strong AWS and middleware experience.

You will build and run the service layer between streaming apps and the platforms behind them: video, DRM, CDN, identity, payments, subscriptions and personalisation. The role is backend-heavy (Node.js/TypeScript microservices on AWS), with front-end work in React when needed.

What you will do

• Design, build and operate microservices and APIs, including backend-for-frontend layers for TV, mobile and web apps.
• Integrate third-party vendors: video platforms, DRM, CDN, identity and payment providers, CMS, recommendations and analytics.
• Run services on AWS with attention to live-event scaling, cost, security and observability.
• Build supporting web tools and admin interfaces in React.
• Explain technical solutions clearly to engineers and non-engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend or full stack development.
• Strong Node.js with TypeScript; microservice architecture and design patterns.
• Production AWS experience, e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB or RDS, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch.
• Infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD.
• SQL and NoSQL databases; caching and messaging (e.g. Redis, RabbitMQ or Kafka).
• Working knowledge of React.

Nice to have

• Video streaming backends: entitlements, DRM licence services, CDN routing, EPG or catalogue services.
• Kubernetes, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, GraphQL.
• Observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Grafana or similar).
• AWS certification; experience with data pipelines or AI/LLM-based services.

Terms

• Time & materials subconsultancy: you contract with our company as a private entrepreneur (ФОП).
• Paid only for hours actually worked, at an agreed hourly rate; no paid vacation or sick leave.
• Full-time (about 40 hours a week), long-term, fully remote from Ukraine.
• Daily work in the customer’s international team: English B2 or higher.
