Full Stack Engineer
We are looking for a Middle Strong Full-Stack Developer with 3+ years of programming background to join an AI startup that maps the brain. Its technology is behind some of the most important neuroscience discoveries of recent years. You’ll work directly with the founder and help build the web tools scientists use to explore how the brain is wired.
Job requirements:
Must have:
- 3+ years of commercial experience in web development
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js
- Solid experience with React.js / Next.js
- Experience designing, building and maintaining scalable APIs and backend services
- Experience with TailwindCSS
- Experience with SWR or similar data-fetching libraries
- Experience writing tests with Jest
- Hands-on experience with GCP (deployment, storage, scaling)
- Understanding of best practices for performance, scalability and accessibility
- Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English
Nice to have:
- Previous Data Engineering experience
- Experience with Three.js / 3D rendering in the browser
- Experience with Algolia
- Experience with Pyodide (running Python in the browser)
Project
Customer: Global startup based in the USA, founded by researchers from a Princeton University neuroscience lab.
Type: AI / neurotech solution for scientific research
Product: The company uses AI to reconstruct neural wiring diagrams (connectomes) from electron microscopy images of brain tissue: it traces every neuron and every synapse. It processes the data automatically, from image alignment to cell and synapse segmentation, and gives research labs collaborative platforms to explore and analyze the 3D reconstructions. The long-term goal is to make brain mapping possible at “zettabyte” scale, up to a full human brain.
Market: Neuroscience research labs, universities and large international research consortia (USA and worldwide)
Stage: growing startup
Project team: 4 full-stack developers, 1 Delivery Manager, 1 Delivery Director
Technical stack: Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, TailwindCSS, Three.js, Algolia, SWR, Jest, Pyodide, GCP
Work schedule: Full-time working day; the position is open to candidates based in Lviv
