Full Stack Engineer

We’re opening the position of a Middle Full-Stack Software Engineer to work with our Customer who empowers organizations to conduct globally connected research and modernize research administration. Their industry-leading cloud-based research platform powers a suite of applications that maximizes researcher success, improves collaboration, and simplifies work across the entire research life cycle including commercialization and tracking of research outcomes. Its global community includes academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, hospitals and health systems, government agencies, independent research institutions, and non-profit organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Code, test, and maintain full-stack software solutions of moderate to high complexity
• Demonstrate engineering discipline in estimating work, reporting on progress, raising blockers, and delivering on time
• Participate in building features end-to-end—from data layer to UI—with a strong sense of ownership over quality and user experience
• Participate in developing prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate new technologies and approaches
• Invest in technical debt, test coverage, and platform health
• Participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning
• Write thorough unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Resolve defects during QA, pre-production, production, and post-release phases
• Uphold and contribute to the team’s Definition of Done (DoD)

Requirements:

• Knowledge of React (the latest version), JavaScript, npm, etc., plus knowledge of deployment strategies (S3 and CloudFront or similar ones)
• Experience with complex front-end applications (the Client’s application does not merely exchange data with API endpoints, there is significant integration with new and legacy JavaScript code that drives much of the front-end functionality)
• Knowledge of Java 8-17 and REST API principles
• General familiarity with SQL and relational data
• Familiarity with Git or Git-style code repos and various branching strategies/flows
• Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Understanding of software design and architecture
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence) or similar ones
• Interest or experience in using AI to improve productivity in designing, building, and testing software
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Solid communication skills with ability to explain technical issues
• English level — Upper-Intermediate or higher

Will be a plus:

• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and containerization
• Knowledge of data store types such as ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, AWS DynamoDB, etc.
• Awareness/knowledge of Bitbucket Pipelines, Terraform IaC, and AWS resources
