Full Stack Engineer

We are looking for an independent full-stack developer to take a key role in evolving Deveit’s customized platform.
This is a hands-on role across Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and deployment.
You should be comfortable investigating an unfamiliar codebase, deciding on an approach, implementing it, and validating the result.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain our customized platform across backend and frontend.
• Lead major version upgrades and participate in updating and integrating third-party plugins.
• Improve the user experience and resolve technical issues across the application.
• Take ownership of features and technical decisions, from investigation through implementation and validation.
• Support staging and production releases and help keep the platform reliable.
• Investigate production issues, maintain focused plugin patches, and document important technical decisions.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on Ruby on Rails experience.
• Ability to deliver both backend and frontend work using Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and server-rendered views.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and application migrations.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose; ability to build an image, run services, and diagnose logs.
• Experience maintaining an established application with third-party dependencies and custom integrations.
• Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and communicate risks and progress clearly.
• Careful approach to testing, production releases, and sensitive data.
Nice to have
• Experience with Redmine or Rails plugin development.
• Experience with Rails upgrades, asset pipelines, background jobs, or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with MySQL, Nginx, Traefik, or Linux operations.
