Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for a Middle-strong / Senior Machine Learning / AI Specialist, preferably with experience in computer vision, to join our Center of Excellence (CoE) team.

A center of excellence (COE) is a team of senior tech experts who conduct research of the strategic tech trends, maintain top quality standards, foster professional development, and can provide you with expert consulting throughout the whole development process.

The CoE helps our clients to perform a Product Discovery Phase, build a prototype, and validate a product concept. The experts provide a client with a High-Level Architecture plan, the suggested technology stack, the design of the product, time and cost estimates, consulting, and a Work Breakdown Structure.

The role is ideal for a professional capable to effectively research, propose and implement ML/AI solutions and strategies corresponding to clients needs, and who will contribute in establishment and continuous improvement of the AI/ML expertise in the CoE department and the company overall.

Job Requirements:

Hard skills:

• 4+ years experience as a ML engineer, AI specialist or a similar role
• Hands on experience with AI technologies, including generative AI, computer vision, LLMs and/or others
• Proficiency in ML frameworks (Tensorflow, sci-kit or alternatives)
• Familiarity with deploying AI/ML models to cloud providers such as AWS or Google
• Knowledge of data visualisation tools
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Would be a plus: experience in web development
• Would be a plus: background in data science, data analytics or data engineering
• Would be a plus: education in a relevant field (mathematics, computer science, statistics, software engineering, etc.)

Soft skills:

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Upper-Intermediate spoken and written English
• Business-oriented mindset and ability to understand real goals of the client
• Ability to document solutions and share the knowledge effectively
• Would be a plus: Skills in team-leadership or mentorship
• Would be a plus: Public speaking experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing machine learning, AI or data-driven solutions
• Technical consulting for new clients in and expertise presentation
• Developing technical proposals as well as prototyping AI/ML based systems
• Participating in pre-sales activities
• Participating in research activities such as discovery phases, idea generation and validation
• Run technical interview for potential employees within relevant experience
• Ad-hoc technical support on existing projects
• Internal RnD (development internal projects, explore new technologies or processes)
• Continuous self-education

Projects / Tasks examples:

• Train predictive models based on existing/historical data
• Post-train or fine-tune existing models (e.g. from HuggingFace) in order to achieve requested functionality
• Build a prototype of AI-driven analytics tool during discovery phase
• Validate clients idea and provide feedback on its possibility of implementation during pre-sales activities
• Prepare estimation (time and cost) of implementation of particular project or feature
• Join and investigate an ongoing project with a purpose such as: consulting, development or super-vising a particular process

Project

Department: CoE Engineering — internal Center of Excellence team working across multiple clients and internal R&D initiatives.

Type: Consulting, product discovery, prototyping and R&D in AI/ML.

Customer: No single fixed customer — you will work with different clients during discovery phases, pre-sales and consulting engagements.

Work schedule: Part-time involvement, fully remote — Ukraine or abroad.
