About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join an infrastructure modernization project focused on transitioning from a MikroTik-based environment to a modern Cisco network infrastructure. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating the current network setup, designing the target architecture, and overseeing the migration process while maintaining network stability and minimizing service interruptions.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze the existing network infrastructure, including configurations, connectivity, VPNs, security policies, and potential vulnerabilities.
Design and implement a Cisco-based network architecture covering routing, switching, segmentation, and security.
Develop and coordinate the migration strategy, including configuration backups, deployment phases, maintenance windows, and rollback procedures.
Ensure seamless interoperability between existing MikroTik devices and newly introduced Cisco equipment during the transition.
Configure secure site-to-site connections and support the migration of remote-access VPN solutions.
Conduct post-migration testing to verify network performance, connectivity, security, and failover capabilities.
Set up network monitoring and logging solutions.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and prepare operational guidelines.
Provide knowledge transfer to the team responsible for ongoing network support.

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, including routing, switching, and IOS/IOS XE configuration.
Practical experience with MikroTik RouterOS, including VLANs, bridging, routing, firewall rules, NAT, and VPN configuration.
Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, including STP/RSTP, LACP, VLANs, IP addressing, and routing protocols.
Experience implementing network security measures such as ACLs, firewall policies, NAT, and secure administrative access.
Good knowledge of IPsec/IKEv2 VPN technologies, including policy-based and route-based configurations.
Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and interoperability issues between Cisco and MikroTik platforms.
Experience upgrading or migrating network infrastructure in production environments.
Strong LAN/WAN troubleshooting skills and the ability to create migration plans and technical documentation.
