QA Engineer

The customer is an Israeli multinational pharmaceutical company.

The Enterprise program is a significant transformation initiative for the customer. It involves implementing consistent, industry-standard business processes supported by integrated systems (SAP-based enterprise solutions) across company sites worldwide. This large-scale, global program is implementing in over 60 countries and 70 plants.

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to validate a metadata-driven Data & AI platform that processes Pharmacovigilance case data through Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Foundry AI services, and JSON-based integrations.

The QA Engineer will be responsible for validating data accuracy, metadata-driven execution, XML-to-JSON transformations, pipeline reliability, auditability, and end-to-end functionality across the solution. The role includes integration, system, and UAT support activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Analysis

• Review business requirements, source-to-target mappings, metadata specifications, and solution design documents.
• Develop Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Traceability Matrix.
• Participate in requirement reviews and identify testability gaps and risks.
• Define test data requirements and validation criteria.

Data Validation Testing

• Validate XML ingestion and parsing processes.
• Verify XML-to-JSON transformation accuracy.
• Perform source-to-target data reconciliation.
• Validate field mappings, business rules, and transformation logic.
• Execute record count validation and completeness checks.
• Validate metadata-driven execution across multiple file types and sources.

ETL / Data Pipeline Testing

• Validate Azure Data Factory orchestration workflows.
• Verify Databricks notebook execution and processing logic.
• Validate control table updates and status tracking.
• Test pipeline restart, recovery, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Perform end-to-end data flow validation across ingestion, processing, and output layers.

AI / Generative AI Validation

• Validate AI-generated JSON content against business expectations.

Integration Testing

• Validate integration between:Azure Data Factory
• Azure Storage
• Azure Databricks
• Microsoft Foundry AI Services

Control Tables

• Verify data movement between components.
• Validate audit trail and status tracking mechanisms.

Quality & Compliance Validation

• Validate auditability and traceability of processed records.
• Verify error, duplicate, and success record routing.
• Ensure processing status updates are correctly captured.
• Support validation documentation and compliance evidence collection.
• Assist with UAT and business validation activities.

Defect Management & Reporting

• Log, track, and manage defects through closure.
• Conduct root cause analysis and retesting.
• Provide daily and weekly quality status reports.
• Support Go-Live readiness assessments and hypercare activities.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of Software Testing experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of Data Testing / ETL Testing experience.
• Experience testing Azure Data platforms.
• Experience creating complex SQL queries for data validation.
• Experience with API, XML, and JSON testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Experience with regulated environments is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Life Sciences / Pharmacovigilance domain.
• Knowledge of GxP, CSV, or regulated system validation.
• Azure Certifications (preferred).
• ISTQB Certification (preferred).
