We are seeking a professionally mature and independent Middle QA Engineer to join an exciting, long-term project developing a comprehensive search and comparison engine for vehicle insurance and extended warranties. In this role, you will act as a true product partner rather than just an executor, ensuring the highest quality of user journeys, application code, and cross-functional integrations.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain high-quality test automation code in TypeScript using Playwright.
- Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines and actively debug flaky tests.
- Review application PRs comprehensively, looking beyond just the test code to ensure overall software quality.
- Perform strategic manual testing, using strong professional judgment on when to dive deep into edge cases and when to ease off.
- Review tickets and designs critically to catch scenarios where a feature might meet Acceptance Criteria (AC) but misses the core product intent.
- Analyze user journeys and behavior using Mixpanel data to drive QA strategy.
- Investigate, analyze, and troubleshoot production issues and incidents.
- Create, update, and maintain comprehensive test documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Designer as a strategic product partner.
- End-to-end testing of components outside the core product, including landing pages, integrations, analytics, and email flows.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on both manual and automated testing.
- Robust experience coding in TypeScript and building/maintaining automation frameworks with Playwright.
- Hands-on experience with Mixpanel or similar user behavior analytics tools.
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, PR reviews, and production incident analysis.
- Very good command of the English language with clear, concise, and impactful communication skills.
- High level of independence, self-organization, and professional maturity to work effectively as an individual contributor.
