QA Engineer

Our client is at the frontier of the next great shift in media consumption: the AI Companion. We aren’t just building another platform; we are redefining entertainment by blending cutting-edge artificial intelligence with deeply personalized, authentic digital connection.

We are looking for a QA leader. You will be our first dedicated QA leader, owning quality end to end. You’ll define the QA process from the ground up: test strategy, release timelines, regression suites, and bug workflows, then execute. Build automated processes and think outside the box. You’ll work daily with engineering, product, and growth teams across web, AI features, billing, and marketing funnels (prelanders, affiliate tracking).

What You’ll Do:

• Own the QA strategy and release quality for the entire Swipey platform: web app, chat, voice, image generation, character creation, progression, and payments.

• Build and maintain the manual regression suite and release smoke checklists; run them for every production release.

• Establish the bug lifecycle in ClickUp: triage, severity/priority standards, reproduction quality, and SLAs with engineering.

• Test AI-specific behavior: conversation quality and memory, character consistency, content-gating rules, generation failures, and latency.

• Verify revenue-critical flows: subscription purchase, upgrades, renewals, payment failures, and token/ credit consumption.

• Validate the growth stack: affiliate postbacks and tracking (Everflow), prelander funnels, and Mixpanel event accuracy on key user actions.

• Run cross-browser and cross-device testing (desktop and mobile browsers, iOS and Android).

• Introduce test automation incrementally where it pays off (smoke/E2E), and mentor QA engineers as the team grows.

• Report quality status to stakeholders: release readiness, escaped-defect trends, and risk calls.

What We’re Looking For:

Must have:

• 5+ years in software QA, including 2+ years leading QA on a consumer web product.

• Proven experience designing test strategies, regression suites, and release processes from scratch.

• Expert with automation process with strong automation and engineering mindset. • Strong manual testing craft: exploratory testing, edge-case hunting, and precise, reproducible bug reports.

• Hands-on experience testing payments/subscriptions and cross-browser web apps (desktop + mobile web).

• Comfort with tools of our trade: ClickUp, browser DevTools, API testing (Postman or similar), basic SQL or analytics tools.

• Clear written and spoken English; you can push back on a release with evidence and tact.

• Comfortable working on an adult-content (18+) product.

Nice to have:

• Experience testing AI/LLM products (prompt regressions, generation quality, safety gating).

• Familiarity with affiliate/performance marketing tracking (Everflow, postbacks, S2S pixels) and Mixpanel.

• Test automation experience (Playwright or Cypress) and CI familiarity (GitHub Actions). • Startup experience: shipping fast without letting quality slide.
