We are looking for a systematic and analytical Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives on understanding how complex systems behave rather than simply testing individual features. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating application behavior, identifying root causes, validating business processes end-to-end, and ensuring software quality across distributed systems.
Rather than focusing solely on modern QA frameworks, we’re seeking someone with strong analytical thinking, experience working with data, and the ability to read and write SQL queries to validate system behavior and troubleshoot issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies for complex applications.
- Analyze system behavior, business logic, and application outcomes to identify defects and inconsistencies.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across distributed systems.
- Validate data integrity by creating and executing SQL queries.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and verify fixes.
- Support test automation initiatives where appropriate.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Document test cases, test results, and quality processes using Jira and Confluence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA methodologies and testing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or Software Tester.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to testing.
- Ability to analyze application behavior beyond expected results and identify underlying issues.
- Experience writing and executing SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle, and quality assurance best practices.
- Experience testing APIs and distributed applications.
- Familiarity with Agile software development environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
