About Us:

Develux is an IT consulting and software development company focused on building innovative solutions for the US market. Alongside our outsourcing services, we are actively developing our own HRTech SaaS product, and our HRM system is currently approaching its public release stage.

We are looking for an experienced Manual / General QA Engineer to join our product team and take ownership of product quality as we move toward release. This role goes beyond functional testing — you’ll work closely with the development team, investigate complex issues, assess risks and feature impact, and help ensure we focus testing and development efforts where they bring the most value.

We’re looking for someone with strong product thinking, technical investigation skills, and experience using AI-powered tools in day-to-day QA workflow.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform primarily functional testing (90%), with a focus on UI/UX testing (10%), using both manual approaches and AI-powered tools.
  • Review new feature specifications to identify potential gaps and risks before development and testing.
  • Assess feature business value, complexity, and dependencies to identify unnecessary solutions early and support feature design and integration testing.
  • Conduct detailed issue investigations using frontend and backend logs, databases, HTTP requests, and infrastructure monitoring, leveraging AI tools where helpful.
  • Perform impact and risk analysis for new features and defects to identify areas requiring additional testing.
  • Prioritize defects based on their business and product impact, helping the team focus on critical fixes and make informed release decisions.
  • Own the full defect lifecycle within your area of responsibility, including issues identified through both manual and automated testing.
  • Collaborate with the development team on the Definition of Ready, including bug-fixing priorities and scope.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong QA & Technical Expertise:

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in Manual / General QA.
  • Functional & UI/UX Testing: Strong hands-on experience testing product functionality, user flows, and interfaces.
  • Technical Investigation: Ability to investigate issues using frontend and backend logs, databases, HTTP requests, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • System & Integration Understanding: Solid understanding of dependencies between features and system components, their impact across product areas, and how to apply this knowledge to integration testing.
  • Impact & Risk Analysis: Ability to assess feature and defect impact, identify risk areas, and define where additional testing is required.
  • Defect Management: Ability to identify, document, prioritize, and manage defects throughout their full lifecycle based on severity, business impact, and release risks.

Strong Product & Quality Mindset:

  • Ownership: Strong ownership of product quality and testing outcomes within your area of responsibility
  • Product Thinking: Ability to critically evaluate feature business value and complexity and identify unnecessary or overly complex solutions early.
  • Feature Review: Ability to review feature specifications, identify gaps and risks, and contribute to defining testing scope before development.
  • AI Feature Testing: Ability to effectively test AI-generated features and functionality, even when requirements are minimal or evolving.

Technical Tools & AI-Assisted QA:

  • Technical Toolkit: Familiarity with Chrome DevTools, Datadog, BrowserStack, Redis, PostgreSQL, Playwright, and GitHub Actions is a plus (or experience with similar alternatives), though not strictly required.
  • Git & AI-Assisted Development Tools: Basic Git skills and interest in using AI-assisted development tools for static testing and running automated tests.
  • AI-Assisted QA: Hands-on experience using AI tools for testing, investigation, and day-to-day QA workflows.
  • Test Automation: Interest in gradually expanding into reviewing and maintaining automated tests with the support of AI tools.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate completed work and testing outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with developers on quality standards, Definition of Ready, testing scope, bug-fixing priorities, and release decisions.
  • Estimation: Ability to provide reliable estimates of the time required for testing.

What We Offer:

  • Flexible Work: Fully remote setup with flexible working hours — start your day anytime before 11:00.
  • Paid Time Off: 21 paid vacation days per year, paid sick leave, plus 6 days of unconfirmed leave per year.
  • Professional Development: English language courses covered up to $80/month after the probation period.
  • Health & Wellness: Up to $80/month for sports and fitness, plus your choice of 50% medical insurance coverage or a healthcare allowance of up to $80 per quarter after probation.
  • Team & Culture: Regular team events and opportunities to connect beyond work.

Hiring process:

  • HR-call with Recruiter
  • Interview with the Hiring manager (1.5 hour)
  • Reference check
  • Proposal for cooperation with Develux

We believe that people with different perspectives and lived experiences drive the company to create unique solutions.

Feedback on CVs will be provided only if the application proceeds to the next stage. Otherwise, your data will be retained in our CV database for future opportunities. The review process may take up to 10 working days.
