QA Engineer
Please note:
- This is a full-time, office-based role in Warsaw. You will be expected to work from the office 5 days a week.
- We are open to candidates from Ukraine who are willing and able to arrange their relocation to Poland independently.
- For this role, we are looking for someone with proven experience managing QA teams of 20+ people.
About the Role
We are working on one of the world’s largest community-based navigation products, together with complex web services and other related solutions. Our web and mobile apps work with a very large amount of information and offer users and businesses many useful features beyond basic search.
You will join a skilled international team and work on a product used by more than 100 million people.
As Head of QA, you will have an important role in building our long-term QA strategy, introducing AI tools, and improving how we track and report quality results.
You will work closely with the QA Project Manager, who coordinates the QA Squad Leads. Together, you will help shape the technical roadmap and support QA Leads who are responsible for key areas such as Automation, Releases, AI Test Flows, and People Development.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a QA strategy that supports business and engineering goals.
- Lead, support, and develop a distributed QA team, including QA Leads and Quality Engineers.
- Improve QA processes, testing methods, team efficiency, and testing time.
- Set and maintain QA standards, quality metrics, KPIs, OKRs, and engineering best practices.
- Lead the use of AI-based testing solutions, automation tools, and modern QA technologies.
- Help teams build strong AI skills and use AI effectively in QA work.
- Create scalable quality engineering and test automation strategies for different products and teams.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Delivery leaders to support high-quality releases and manage quality risks.
- Provide strategic advice on quality-related projects and improvements.
- Be the main escalation point for difficult technical, organizational, and quality issues.
- Lead QA hiring, employee development, succession planning, and team growth.
- Build a culture of innovation, responsibility, continuous learning, and strong engineering practices.
- Find and introduce new processes and AI-based improvements.
Requirements
- Based in Warsaw or ready to relocate. This is an office-based role.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- 4+ years of experience leading QA teams in a product company.
- Experience managing large QA teams of 20+ engineers, including QA Leads.
- Experience creating QA strategies, company-wide standards, KPIs, and scalable quality processes.
- Strong experience improving QA processes and team efficiency.
- Experience creating and implementing test strategies and modern Quality Engineering practices.
- Good knowledge of how AI can be used in software testing and experience testing or introducing AI-based QA solutions.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methods, CI/CD, and software testing best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English at C1/C2 level.
- Fluent Ukrainian at C1/C2 level.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience with test automation frameworks and QA architecture.
- Experience testing AI-based products or applications using Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
- Experience with performance, security, or reliability testing.
- ISTQB certification or a similar qualification.
