QA Team Lead

We are looking for a QA System Lead to join our Kyiv office and become a key part of a cross-country engineering organization. In this role, you will combine people management with strong coordination of QA practices in 3Shape Unite project.

You will lead two teams (for now 6 colleagues in total) and act as a QA Lead for a large-scale project involving 10+ test engineers. Your focus will be on enabling collaboration, aligning testing approaches, including automation tests, and ensuring consistency in quality across multiple development teams.

Areas of responsibility:

• Lead and support teammates, including coaching, mentorship, and continuous feedback
• Drive hiring & onboarding for your teams
• Facilitate alignment on testing approaches across multiple teams
• Coordinate QA-related activities across the project
• Contribute to the Test strategy together with stakeholders
• Ensure consistency of QA processes, practices, and standards
• Provide even better connection between QA, development, product, and release teams etc.

To succeed in your role, you should possess the following skills and competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development as a QA Lead or relevant roles (Test Manager, Quality Manager etc.)
• Proven people management experience
• Strong experience defining and implementing end-to-end QA strategies across the SDLC, including Shift-Left practices
• Strong focus on test coverage monitoring, defect management, and root cause analysis
• Solid knowledge of test pyramid principles (unit, integration, UI) and their practical implementation in modern systems
• Strong experience in non-functional testing (performance, resilience, compatibility etc.)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience of working in cross-team and cross-location environments
• Fluent English

Would be a plus:

• Experience with document management systems (Jama, SharePoint or similar)
• Knowledge of modern engineering practices such as DevOps and Continuous Delivery
• Experience introducing quality gates and release governance processes
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed systems
