Software Architect

We are looking for a Principal Backend & Data Architect to own the architecture of a complex data-intensive product from the ground up.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who has designed production-grade platforms where data modelling, versioning, traceability, permissions and long-term architectural decisions are critical.

What you will own

• Core backend and data architecture
• Domain and data modelling
• Versioned and temporal data structures
• Data provenance, lineage and historical recomputation
• Multi-tenant architecture and data isolation
• Permission models including RBAC / ABAC
• Auditability and traceability
• Computation and semantic layers
• Technical standards and architecture documentation
• Technical leadership and review of backend implementation

What we are looking for

• 8+ years of backend/software engineering experience
• Proven experience architecting complex, data-heavy production systems
• Excellent system design and data modelling skills
• Strong PostgreSQL / SQL expertise
• Experience with distributed systems, queues, background processing and APIs
• Experience with temporal, versioned or event-driven architectures
• Strong understanding of multi-tenancy, authorization and data security
• Ability to make architecture decisions and remain hands-on during implementation
• Experience leading senior engineers technically

Strong advantage

Experience with regulated or sensitive data, healthcare, fintech, insurance, IoT, analytics or decision-support platforms.

This is not a pure management or solution-architecture role. We are looking for someone who can design the foundation, challenge assumptions and stay close to implementation.
