Software Engineer
At Zutobi, we’re not just an EdTech company — we’re on a mission to make roads safer for everyone. We’ve built the top-rated driver’s education app in the US (4.8 rating, 15M+ downloads, 250,000+ monthly users), but it’s just the beginning.
Now, we’re looking for a brilliant Senior Data Analyst to be the engine of our product growth, turning fascinating data into our next big success story. You’ll own our experimentation culture — from designing and launching A/B tests to delivering statistically sound answers about what works and why. You’ll dive deep into product performance and unit economics, uncover insights in user behavior, and bring your own hypotheses to the product roadmap.
This is a role with real ownership: beyond the analysis itself, you’ll build the analytics processes and automation that make data accessible to the whole team — and turn analytics into a function the entire business relies on. You’ll work directly with the CPO and product managers across all our pods.
Do you get a thrill from seeing your analysis directly shape strategy and drive real-world results? If so, we want to talk to you!
Requirements:
— Proven experience: 3+ years in product/data analytics, ideally within a B2C subscription app (mobile and/or web), with a track record of analysis that changed product decisions.
— Experimentation mastery: You’ve owned A/B tests end-to-end — defining success metrics, calculating sample sizes, and delivering statistically sound conclusions. You know the classic pitfalls (peeking, novelty effects, underpowered tests) and how to avoid them.
— Sharp SQL: Expert-level SQL on raw event data (we run on BigQuery) — complex joins, window functions, building analysis from scratch rather than from ready-made dashboards
— Product analytics tools: Hands-on experience with Amplitude (or similar — Mixpanel, PostHog): funnels, retention, segmentation, behavioral cohorts.
— Subscription metrics fluency: You speak the language of LTV, ARPPU, churn, retention, trial conversion — and understand how unit economics ties them together.
— AI-accelerated workflow: You actively use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or similar) in your daily analytical work — not just curious about AI, already putting it to work.
— Proactive ownership: You don’t wait for tickets — you spot opportunities, bring hypotheses, and push insights until they become decisions.
Responsibilities:
— Drive a culture of experimentation: Own A/B testing from start to finish — design experiments, define success metrics, calculate sample sizes, and deliver clear, statistically sound analysis that tells us what works and why.
— Be the growth detective: Dive deep into user funnels and product performance using Amplitude and BigQuery. You’ll uncover friction points, identify “aha!” moments, and generate powerful, data-driven hypotheses that shape our product roadmap.
— Master our unit economics: Analyze LTV, ARPPU, churn, and retention across iOS, Android, and web — and connect user behavior to revenue so we always know which levers actually move the business.
— Turn data into decisions: Proactively bring insights and hypotheses to product managers and leadership — not just answer questions, but change what we build next.
— Build the analytics engine: Shape how analytics works at Zutobi — create processes, automate recurring analyses and reporting, and make data self-serve for the whole team.
— Elevate our data foundation: You won’t just use our dashboards — you’ll build them. Improve and scale our analytics infrastructure using SQL, BigQuery, and modern tooling (including AI) to keep data accurate, accessible, and actionable.
Would be a plus:
— Experience with experimentation platforms (Amplitude Experiment, GrowthBook, Firebase A/B Testing or similar) — not just analyzing tests, but running the tooling behind them.
— You’ve built analytics from the ground up — set up processes, metric trees, or reporting standards in a company where they didn’t exist before.
— Marketing analytics literacy — understanding of attribution, CAC, and how acquisition quality flows into product metrics.
— Experience in EdTech or B2C mobile subscription products — you’ll ramp up faster if you already know this world.
What we offer:
- Real impact: Your analysis directly shapes what we build — you’ll see your work move product and revenue metrics for 250,000+ monthly users.
- Autonomy and trust: No micromanagement — you own your domain and build it the way you believe is right.
- A fully remote team with flexible working hours designed to support a healthy work-life integration.
- Enough paid vacation days and sick leave, ensuring you have the time to rest, recharge, and prioritize your well-being.
- Allocated budget for advanced professional courses and leadership training to support your ongoing growth.
- Stability: Reliable, timely payments and long-term cooperation.
- Growth: Performance-based opportunities to grow as the analytics function scales.
